Father dies after allegedly killing daughter

YORK, Va. It started with a Virginia man allegedly killing his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

It ended with the father committing suicide by walking into traffic on a busy interstate — but not before he was involved in two wrecks and a carjacking.

The sheriff of York County has pieced together the deaths of 49-year-old Michael Lowe and his daughter, Mali.

Sheriff J.D. Diggs says Mali was strangled and struck in the head over the weekend and her body dumped outside a vacant home.

Lowe then drove the wrong way onto a highway early Sunday, hitting a car head-on. Diggs says Lowe assaulted a woman who had stopped to help and stole her Ford Explorer.

Lowe then drove onto busy Interstate 64, where he ran the Explorer off the road. Then he walked onto the roadway, where he was struck by several vehicles, including a tractor-trailer.

Cool! Self-inflicted death sentence! While I feel bad for the drivers who bounced this scumbag all over the highway, I’m pleased that no tax dollars had to be used to prove this guy insane in the death of his daughter only to be “set free” in a couple of years when he’s cured.

But do you know what is freaking sick about all of this (other than the obvious)? Some relative of his will sue one of the drivers for some reason or the other, claiming he wasn't killing himself. The insurance company will settle out of court and you and I will pay higher insurance premiums for this kind of crap. Can you tell I hate lawsuits?

This isn't supposition either. I worked in the risk management department of a 1200 store grocery chain. A man had the police called on him 3 times in one night on domestic violence issues. He evaded them through the woods. At dawn, he was walking down a rural highway and ran in front of one of our semi trucks that couldn't see him until the last moment because he was facing the sun as the truck came over a hill. Suicide by truck, right? Nah, even though the truck was operating at a legal speed on a US Highway, his family sued.

GRRRRRRRR! Totally different scenario, but what about Gloria Allred taking the "case" for those "poor" black men who were "threatened" and "intimidated" by Michael Richards tirade? GIVE ME A BREAK! As horrible and dispicable as the "N"word is, I don't believe that it's illegal to use. Also, how can a man on stage seriously threaten and intimidate a man watching from a balcony (to the tune of MILLIONS, of course) (with a group of his buddies, no less!)

It's so sick that at such a moment of grieve, people take the opportunity to make a quick buck out of it. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the deceased

Michael Lowe died a cowards death and now he cannot be held accountable for the death of his 2-year old daughter, Mali. The reasons for why he did what he did shall never be known and the voice of justice is silenced for the beautiful little girl who did nothing but bring joy to those who knew her. The tax dollars would have been well worth spending for justice' sake. If any of you had ever looked into her eyes and seen her soul, you would agree with me.

His family, despite their relation to him, are reasonable, caring and respectable people. They are not the suing type. This tragedy has left many of them broken-hearted and filled with questions that will forever go unanswered. I don't believe attacking them with stipulation serves purpose.

No one shall know why he took her life. No one shall understand. The only one who has to understand now, is Mali.

No, M.J. the voice of justice is not silenced. We just can't hear his wails of torture in Hell.

Trust me, he's being held accountable in a way no earthly court could possibly condone.
