Clarett the LOSER!

Police: Former Ohio State Star Clarett Arrested With 4 Guns

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Maurice Clarett was arrested early Wednesday after a highway chase that ended with police using Mace on the former Ohio State running back and finding four loaded guns in his truck, a police spokesman said.

Officers used Mace to subdue Clarett after a stun gun was ineffective because the former Fiesta Bowl star was wearing a bullet-resistant vest, Sgt. Michael Woods said.

Four loaded guns and a flak jacket? What the hell was he preparing for? Skip any trial he may be looking at and let’s get him right over to Iraq! That probably wouldn’t work because it’s obvious he has no moral direction, and our military does.

“It took several officers to get him handcuffed,” Woods said. “Even after he was placed in the paddy wagon, he was still kicking at the doors and being a problem for the officers.”

Clarett was being interviewed at police headquarters. Authorities planned to charge him with carrying concealed weapons and other counts, Woods said.

Clarett made an illegal U-turn on the city’s east side and failed to stop when officers tried to pull him over.

Once a gangsta, always a gangsta.

Clarett was being pursued by police while driving eastbound on Interstate 70 when he darted across the median and began heading west. Clarett drove over a spike strip that was placed on the highway, flattening the driver’s side tires of the SUV, Woods said.

Clarett exited the highway and pulled into a restaurant parking lot, where officers removed him from the SUV after he failed to obey numerous orders to exit the vehicle, Woods said.

Not good military material if you can’t follow a simple order.

After Clarett was placed in a police van, officers discovered a loaded rifle and three loaded handguns in the front of the vehicle, Woods said.

Woods said he did not know where Clarett got the guns or why he had them and that federal authorities plan to trace their ownership.

Gansta party.

Clarett, 22, is currently awaiting trial on two counts of aggravated robbery, four counts of robbery and one count of carrying a concealed weapon in a separate case. Authorities said he was identified by witnesses as the person who flashed a gun and robbed two people in an alley behind the Opium Lounge in the early hours of Jan. 1.

And he got out on bond? Hopefully the judge denies bond in this case, or makes it so costly he won’t be out. And what the hell kind of name is that for a lounge; Opium?

Clarett scored the winning touchdown in the second overtime to lead Ohio State to the 2002 national championship, the school’s first since 1968. But that was the last game the freshman played for Ohio State. He sat out the 2003 season after being charged with misdemeanor falsification on a police report, then dropped out of school. He sued to be included in the 2004 NFL draft and lost in court.

A surprise third-round pick in the 2005 draft, he was cut by the Denver Broncos during the preseason.

Hmmm….gangsta’s given the opportunity of a lifetime to make millions playing football and what’s he do? Blames everyone else for his troubles because he couldn’t handle the mental strength it takes to be a pro. Now he’s just going to be another stat in another prison that you and I get to pay for.

Given: The guy is an idiot. A possilbe darwin candidate.

BUT, the focus on firearms is troubling. Firearms are not illegal (except certain cities, which themselves ought to be illegal, but I digress).

Illegal discharge of a firearm, in say a robbery of murder is another thing, but having them? No. There are many areas in the these United States where a flak jacket would be a welcome fashion accessory for one who wishes to continue respirating.

Weapons do not a gangsta make.

An idiot no doubt. Dangerous likely. But, the weapons are neutral until operated.

Thanks for the comment, Rob!

I am not arguing his right to own firearms, but certainly do question it now, given his propensity toward violence. Felons aren't allowed this right. (I guess he's not a felon.......yet.)

I believe in most instances it is illegal to carry a loaded weapon within the confines of your vehicle (unless it is locked in a trunk and out of reach).

Putting all the pieces together; 4 loaded guns, flak jacket, booze, resisting officers, one could make a pretty good assumption that yes, he's an idiot and yes, he's dangerous. (Despite his brilliant attorney who states "There was no intent to harm anyone."

Really, the point I was trying to make was a kid with a muliti-million dollar opportunity blowing it all away because he couldn't make the lifestyle change.

This cat wasn't operating under any legal impediment to his gun-toting ways. His reasons for going armed had nothing to do with the Second Amendment. The point, as I read it, is that this cat is no damn good. He's a busted clock and needs to be thrown away. It's too bad, but the rest of us will get over it.

Those under indictments for felony charges aren't allowed firearms, so the feds just might catch up with him. I got your point concerning someone being handed the world on a golden plater then asking to have it bronzed.

He is a drunk. Probably more than that. Hard to be a professional with baggage like that.

I am licensed to carry a concealed weapon in my state and am a strong believer in the right to own firearms, but for the love of god....4 guns, flak jacket near the home of a witness testifying in another case against him?

He has a long history of making bad decisions....this just fits the pattern. Thug is as thug does.....

I just read the saga of Maurice Clarett on Wikepedia.com and want to make a comment. This guy has got to be one of the dumbest people on the planet. First off he got way to big for his britches. He, like a lot of young sports stars thought that he was THE MAN. He is right where he should be because 1)He thought he was invincible even though he was virtually UNPROVEN cuz anybody can have 1 good season, 2) He was rude and arrogant demanding that The SanDiego Chargers dare not draft him stating that it was a "loser" franchise. This was coming from a guy who had NO other options. What an idiot. 3)He listened to and believed all of the hype about him, 4)He routinley argued and challenged coaches. 5)He hung out with and was and still is a gifted "lowlife". Every year there are thousands of young football players who would die to get a shot at just one of the opportunities that this dummy was given and would probably really appreciate it and thank their lucky stars but not this loser. I hope that he rots in jail. BTW I'm a black man, and Maurice Clarett is an embarassment to my race.
